Cotswold Montessori School - Intelligent & Supportive Child-care for 2 to 5 year olds

We are a friendly little Montessori school in newly purpose-converted farm buildings in the estate village of Great Barrington, near Burford in the beautiful North Cotswolds.

We have two bright and light classrooms, filled with well-thought through and high quality learning materials. We also have free flow access to our own secure south-facing garden and our parent body has been amazing, raising funds to help us build it into a 'forest-school' style play garden.
Our main aim is to create an environment for our children that is as safe and caring as home but that is also filled with fun & intelligent learning activities. We work very hard to provide enjoyable & stimulating challenges that our little people might not otherwise have access to.

If you are looking for well thought through early years' education delivered by qualified & creative teachers in a beautiful rural setting we would love to hear from you. We try to be so good, even mummies & daddies want to stay.

What is Montessori? A visionary, child-focused educational method, developed over 100 years ago. The method is based on logically and sensitively introducing educational and social concepts to very young children. It's major focus is on learning to concentrate and become independent, happy life-long learners. Over the past 100 years, the method has become globally accepted as significant to 'Early Years' best practice. Many major educational ideas identified by Maria Montessori, the founder of the method, have recently been verified by modern independent scientific research. Montessori's particular interest was the role of education in the promotion of peace,
a sentiment never more relevant than today. It is precisely this aspect of her work that led to her being repeatedly nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
